Mike Shiffer’s career has been focused on effective transport planning by leveraging technology for evidence-based decision support. He is currently Senior Vice President of Regional Planning for New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Dr. Shiffer is also formerly Executive Vice President for Planning and Policy at TransLink (in greater Vancouver, Canada) and Vice President for Planning and Development at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). As an academic, Shiffer was previously Associate Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Principal Research Scientist and Lecturer in Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. Mike holds a Ph.D. in Regional Planning and Master of Urban Planning from the University of Illinois.
