Professor of Breast Medical Oncology, Professor of Molecular and Cellular Oncology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. Previously, he was Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of Oncology at Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Jordan was the first to discover the breast cancer prevention properties of tamoxifen and the scientific principles for adjuvant antihormone therapy. More recently, his work has branched out into the prevention of multiple diseases in women with the discovery of the selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) group of drugs. Currently, she plans to develop a new Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for postmenopausal women that prevents breast cancer and does not increase the risk of breast cancer.
