Location, Accommodation & Travel information

Les Diablerets is a Swiss Alpine village situated 120 km from the International Airport of Geneva. It is easily reached either by car or by public transport. At an altitude of 1200 m and near Lac Leman, the village is a ski-resort in winter and the scenic beauty of the region coupled with excellent facilities provides an ideal setting for this residential Conference. The Conference will be held in the ‘Maison de Congrès’ set in the heart of the village with accommodation and meals at the nearby four-star hotel, Eurotel-Victoria.

Les Diablerets and the surrounding region

The start of spring is the perfect time to visit Les Diablerets, an authentic Swiss Alpine Village, directly in front of Glacier 3000. Experience breath-taking views of the snowy mountain landscapes, it couldn't be a better time to explore. Take a cable car to Glacier 3000 to enjoy the stunning views and winter activities. When it’s time to relax, pamper yourself in the warm water of the Bains de Villars or enjoy the special regional dishes on offer in many restaurants.

Travel information

Getting there

Les Diablerets is situated 22km from Geneva airport and 240km from Zurich airport. From both airports you can reach the conference venue by train, or you can rent a car.

Geneva airport

By train: Take the train in the direction of Lausanne to Aigle, exiting at Aigle. From there take the train – called ASD to Diablerets. The journey takes about two hours from Geneva airport.

By car: Take the highway in the direction of ‘Simplon, Grand St-Bernard’, exiting at Aigle. Then, follow the road ‘Col du Pillon – Les Diablerets’. The journey from Geneva airport to Les Diablerets takes about one hour and a half.

Zurich airport

By train: Take the train in the direction of Berne – Lausanne, exiting at Lausanne. From there take the train in the direction of Montreux, exiting at Aigle. At Aigle, take the train – called ASD – to Diablerets. The journey takes about four hours from Zurich airport.

By car: Take the highway in the direction of ‘Berne – Lausanne’. From Vevey, take the direction ‘Simplon, Grand St-Bernard’, exiting at Aigle. Then, follow the road ‘Col du Pillon – Les Diablerets’. The journey from Zurich airport to Les Diablerets takes about four hours.

Elsevier has been made aware that third-party companies are targeting Elsevier conference speakers and attendees with a fraudulent travel and hotel booking scheme.

The companies are calling/emailing conference attendees, using email addresses which appear very similar to official Elsevier email addresses, and claiming to be the “official” housing bureau and/or authorized by Elsevier to book hotel/travel accommodations for the conference. This is entirely false and should anyone contact you, please do not provide them with any of your details, but refer this to Elsevier.
